Grace In-Transit > Get Moving
Exercise keeps your mind and body alert and decreases stress levels.
Stay in shape anywhere with these helpful hints.
- Running or walking through local parks or on trails keeps you
in shape and familiarizes you with your new surroundings.
- Walk to your destination if possible. Ask yourself, "If I were
in Europe or New York City, would this destination be out of walking
distance?"
- Sal Anthony of Sal Anthony's Movement Studio recommends turning
on some music and simply dancing. He suggests that when one "breathes,
moves and dances, the body instantly starts to align."
- If toning is your goal, you can work your lower half by doing
three sets of 12 standing lunges on each side every other day.
- Pack a jump rope. This effective and portable tool gets circulation
going and generates a healthy glow. Jump for a few minutes to
start and gradually increase your jumping time.
