Epicurious.com CELEBRATES ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY WITH NEW "INGREDIENTS"

Premier Food Web Site Honors a Loyal Online Community with Innovative Features, Reader Recipe Contest and Enhanced Content

New York, NY, March 21, 2005 – Epicurious.com, the online home of Gourmet and Bon Appétit, is celebrating its 10th anniversary as the premier online food destination. For a decade, the award-winning site has been pleasing palates and satisfying passionate home cooks with its comprehensive database of more than 20,000 tested recipes, editorial features and myriad cooking and planning tools. Starting this month, Epicurious will kick off its year-long birthday celebration by rewarding loyal users with the launch of ten recipe contests and a new consumer recipe database. Additionally, this highly-acclaimed site is introducing Epi to Go, a revolutionary program that will simplify shoppers' experience, and enhanced content with a streamlined new look.

Ten Reader Recipe Contests to Celebrate Ten Years
The anniversary celebration officially begins with ten Reader Recipe Contests rolling out in March. Each contest will focus on a culinary theme such as cuisine, preparation method or occasion. The first contest challenges consumers to get out their pasta makers or Arborio rice to create a unique Italian pasta or risotto recipe. Users can submit their culinary creations online and the winning recipes will be chosen by the Epicurious community in an open vote. All contest entrants will join the ranks of the world's top chefs by having their recipes archived on the site, and prizes will be awarded to winners and 10 semi-finalists for each month's theme. The Reader Recipe Contests and Epicurious Tenth Anniversary section are sponsored by KitchenAid, Bertolli and McCormick.

User's Culinary Database
"Epicurious has an amazing community of loyal readers, and this is our way of saying thank you to them," said Jamie Pallot, Editorial Director. "They've always traded recipes in our forums. Now we're building them a state-of-the-art area where they can not just save their own recipes, but also search for, rate and review those submitted by their fellow cooks."

Recipes On the Go
Users can now take those recipes on the go with the introduction of "Epi to Go." This revolutionary feature, ideal for trips to the grocery store to purchase ingredients, enables users to download recipes onto their mobile phones or PDAs. Along with the recipes, the user has access to recommendations and tips about the chosen recipe, such as wine pairings.

Real World Wine And More
Great wines round out great recipes. Epicurious recently teamed up with Andrea Immer Robinson, one of the country's leading wine experts, to introduce "Real World Wine." Andrea and Epicurious invigorate the overall wine experience for users by upgrading the site's wealth of recipes with complementary wine recommendations and simplifying the approach to pairing food with wine.

Other new editorial features include Going Global, a monthly spotlight on emerging cuisines and The Corner Table, hot restaurant and food news, delivered fresh daily.

With all these new features – both online and off – Epicurious.com raises a glass to its users for ten years of success. The site celebrates its online community honoring their loyalty and dedication over the last ten years and looks forward to enhancing the users' culinary experience for another decade.
