Fashion Icon Diane von Furstenberg to Provide Seasonal Content

NEW YORK (December 5, 2000) -- Travelers who want the real scoop on destinations - from San Francisco to Tuscany or from the Galapagos Islands to Tahiti - can now log on to www.Concierge.com to access the site's new Travelog feature, which offers free advice, tips and insights by fellow Concierge.com travelers to top destinations around the world.

Travelog allows visitors to create personal Web pages where they can share experiences, post photos and give recommendations for hotels, restaurants, beaches or even historic sites worth visiting. The Travelog format lends itself to exclusive first-hand information from fellow travelers. In the section "Hits and Misses," travelers share experiences, like the best place for people watching, a favorite museum and a favorite souvenir. "Highlights" explores the trip further, for example, a Travelog user details his "Best Night" in Marrakech a Moroccan town:

"The most amazing night happened in Marrakech, when we had dinner at a palace restaurant, Yacout, that a colleague had recommended to me. A cab picked us up at our hotel, drove us through the maze of the medina and dropped us off in front of an inconspicuous, but extremely large, wooden door. We were ushered up winding stone stairs to a rooftop area, where we had an unobstructed view of the medina below and minarets in the distance. Two musicians played while we had cocktails and nuts. Then we were taken downstairs, to a table next to a beautiful tiled pool, where we ate the most amazing lamb tagines."

Diane's "Dish" on Destinations

Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg will write quarterly Travelogs about her favorite vacation destinations, beginning this month with India. Concierge.com users will have a chance to win prize packages that feature von Furstenberg designs.

Additionally, Concierge.com will award a digital camera every month to the author of the most informative, evocative and entertaining Travelog, as judged by the Concierge.com editorial team.

"Today's modern travelers are looking for reliable, authentic and unique information about their travel destinations," said Jonathan Fishel, general manager of Concierge.com. "In addition to the great travel articles already featured on the site, Travelog enables our readers to take advantage of fellow travelers' great experiences, while providing tips to avoid the pitfalls you can sometimes encounter on vacation."
